Escape Ministries

This nonprofit volunteer organization, supported by area churches and civic groups, also coordinates relief assistance to needy families and individuals. In addition, it refers people to the appropriate helping agency/agencies and acts as an advocate on behalf of those in need or distress. ESCAPE is intended to help those who are faced with a temporary emergency and refers those with on-going difficulties to appropriate resources. ESCAPE is an acronym for “Enabling Social and Church Advocacy for People Enrichment.”

Shepherd’s Staff

Ebenezer regularly supports the Shepherd’s Staff Ministry. The Shepherd’s Staff is a Christian Outreach and Support Center serving those in need in Carroll County, Maryland. Their office is located at 30 Carroll Street in Westminster, MD, 21158 across from Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Shepherd’s Staff ministry continually strives to effectively respond to people in their time of need. The focus is to provide temporary assistance to resolve short-term problems and empower people to seek more permanent solutions for social and economic self-sufficiency.

Cold Weather Shelter

Ebenezer supports the Cold Weather Shelter by providing meals, clothing and personal hygiene supplies.  The purpose of this program is to provide protection from freezing weather conditions during the winter months for homeless adults in Carroll County. This seasonal shelter operates from November 15th until March 30th.

Board of Child Care

Ebenezer provides clothing and gifts for the Board of Child Care each year and during special seasons. This ministry is for youth who are diagnosed with emotional, developmental and behavioral disabilities. They serve youth from the Department of Social Services, the Department of Juvenile Services and the Department of Human Resources. The goal of this program is to create an environment where youth can learn to be successful members of their families and communities.

Backpack Ministry

With a team of teachers leading the charge, every year over one hundred back packs are collected, filled and distributed to Winfield Elementary School.  This is due to the generosity of our congregation and the understanding of the need in our community!

Brinton Woods Ministry

Brinton Woods Health & Rehabilitation Center is located in Winfield, Maryland. They provide the resources needed for residents and their families in need of trained compassionate care. Once a month a group of volunteers from Ebenezer go to Brinton Woods to gather with residents and sing the hymns of faith.
